Jomonte Suvisheshangal Review -An Open Letter to Sathyan Anthikad

Dulquer Salmaan and Sathyan Anthikad from Jomonte Suvisheshangal

Dear Sathyan Anthikad

I saw Jomonte Suvisheshangal yesterday. It started off pleasantly and I thought this looked different from your other movies. Dulquer Salman and Mukesh as the father-son duo shared great chemistry. I especially enjoyed the scenes where Mukesh tried to make a land deal in a funeral or Dulquer walked into a bus full of girls . Both the actors’ timing stood out in those scenes.

But few minutes before the interval, I started to realize I was wrong. From this point, I started to see all your old movies one after another in each and every frame. There was Rasathanthram when Dulquer talks about his father to his siblings. There was Manasinakkare when Mukesh talks to his sons and brother in law. There was Veendum Chila Veettu Karyangal and Vinodayathra when hero learns to become responsible in life. There was even last year’s Jacobinte Swargarajyam.

Over the last few years, you have been trying to change the actors, names of character, script writers, camera men etc but we are ultimately continuing to get the same old vine in new bottles. You have given us some of our finest classics but unfortunately you have been caught up in the web of your own making . It is high time you take one huge leap forward.
